C-53 restoration in Zephyrhills

At the Zephyrhills Airport Barrack Museum, there is a C-53 being restored for static display. The Zephyrhills Airport Barrack Museum is located at the Zephyrhills Airport and is housed in one of the last remaining buildings from when the US Army used the field for pilot training.

This C-53 (42-68804/N134D) served as a troop carrier and later with American Airlines, Ozark Airlines and Fairchild Hiller. The airframe was sitting in Mississippi for 20 plus years.

The museum is located at 39444 South Avenue, Zephyrhills and is open on Saturdays between 1000 and 1600 hours.
