From the VAC website: Don’t miss this extra special Veteran’s Day weekend Open House 15 and 16 November at The Valiant Air Command. FREE admission for any military Active, or Retired and all Brevard County Residents – with ID.

In addition to entry to the Warbird Museum with thousands of artifacts, memorabilia and displays as well as the vintage warbirds, which will be on display, we will also have many of the veteran pilots that flew these venerable aircraft. And, as a special bonus to the aircraft and memorabilia that we have on display, the Space Coast Train Club will have operating train layouts and there will be an antique car showing as well.

The museum will be open from 9AM to 5PM. Hot dogs and drinks will be available and parking is free. So, whether it’s planes, trains and/or automobiles, there’s something for the whole family — come out, take a tour and become a part of history!

From the Wings over Miami website: “The original B-1 Brown Racer NR83Y has been donated to our Museum courtesy of the Louis G. Russo Estate. This aircraft is now on display in our hangar at Tamiami Airport. Manufactured in 1933, this aircraft, in addition other racing accomplishments, won the 1934 Miami All American Air Races, piloted by famous race pilot Ralph Bushey, held at the old Miami Municipal Airport. It had been, until recently, been on display at the EAA Air Venture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Lawrence Brown, of Santa Monica, California, experimented and designed a number of highly regarded race planes in the 1020’s and 30’s. His best know racers were the Brown racers designated as the B-1, B-2, and B-3.

Dress in costume to enter a raffle drawing for special prizes, and have fun with Nate the Magician, Rainbow the Clown and Scooby-Doo! Treat stations will also be located inside the Museum. Children in costume receive $2.00 admission to one of two new Halloween Motion-Based Simulator rides, Superstition or Haunted House. Major Harry Johnson, USMC (Ret), a former member of the famed WWII Black Sheep Squadron, will also be on hand to sign autographs. It’s a “thrilling” event you won’t want to miss! Starting at 1000, American Aero Services will be hosting an “Open Hangar Day”. The Collings Foundation will be in town for maintenance. It is a fun time for all and free. Next “Open Hangar” day will be 20 December 08.
