American Aero Services will be hosting an Open House on 17 November from 9-2. Parts of the Colling’s Foundation bomber fleet and other aircraft will be available for viewing.
CAF P-51C Red Tail Squadron in Orlando
The Commemorative Air Forces Red Tail Squadron’s P-51C will be at Orlando Executive Airport during the NBAA airshow from 30 Oct through 1 November. In addition, the traveling exhibit hauler will be at the airport as well.
B-17 “The Movie” Memphis Belle to visit Florida
The Liberty Foundation has just announced that the B-17 “The Movie” Memphis Belle will be coming to Florida. First stops are Jacksonville (Cecil Field), Nov 3 and 4 and Tampa (Tampa Exec) , Nov 10 and 11. Rides are available.
Fantasy of Flight’s Stinson L-1 has wings
The Fantasy of Flight has recently attached the wings to the Stinson L-1 and this restoration is in it final steps. Hopefully a return to the air will happen soon.
According to wikipedia, “The Stinson Vigilant was used in diverse roles such as towing training gliders, artillery spotting, liaison, emergency rescue, transporting supplies and special espionage flights.”
Collings Foundation bombers coming to New Smyrna Beach
The Collings Foundation’s bomber are heading to American Aero Services in New Smyrna Beach for their winter maintenance. The bombers are scheduled to arrive on 4 November.
