Located at Fantasy of Flight, is a storage facility named Golden Hill, that was opened to house some of the aircraft waiting restoration or a place to be displayed. Back in April 2014, on the last day that this version of Fantasy of Flight, these pictures were taken.

American Aero Services hosted an Open House at their facilities back in February. The Colling’s Foundation aircraft were back for the last round of maintenance before going out on tour. Lots of other work going on that day and the staff were extremely nice and open to talk with visitors.

The Valiant Air Command Museum will be having its yearly Open House on 23 and 24 May. Event will be at the Space Coast Executive Airport.
Free admission for Active/Retired Military and Florida Residents with valid ID.
We have gone the past three years and there is usually a great turnout. Some flying happens, lots of planes of display, events going on in the hangar and many other things.
American Aero Services posted on Facebook some pictures of the Colling’s F6F restoration.
The Fantasy of Flight Stinson O-49 Vigilant, 40-3102, was named the “GRAND CHAMPION WARBIRD” at the conclusion of Sun N Fun 2015. The restoration of the airframe took over 15 years of work after it was damaged in Hurricane Andrew.
From wikipedia, the design of this aircraft came in response to a 1938 United States Army Air Corps design competition for a two-seat light observation aircraft. When the German-manufactured Fieseler Storch was demonstrated at the Cleveland Air Races, the Air Corps revised its specifications in an attempt to match the performance of the Storch. Stinson (later a division of Vultee), won the $1.5 million contract over 11 competitors, including the Bellanca YO-50 and Ryan YO-51 Dragonfly.
