Had more vacation time to use, so I made a stop by American Aero Services in New Smynra to see the continued work that they are doing. The B-17 is currently on stands with working being done on all parts of the aircraft.
P-51C is coming along nicely. Maybe end of the year for a first flight.
The CAF Red Tail P-51C will be taking part in the National Salute to America’s Heroes, Miami Air and Sea Show, May 29-30, 2021. Details on this show can be hound here: https://usasalute.com
The tour is currently on hold due to a wing spar issue.
The Experimental Aircraft Association has announced that their B-17 “Aluminum Overcast” will be doing a tour that includes these Florida locations. Ground tours are not available.
