Trip Report – CPL Larry E. Smedley National Vietnam War Museum, Orlando, Nov 2017

Located on the Southeast side of Orlando, is the CPL Larry E. Smedley National Vietnam War Museum, which honors the men and women that served in the Vietnam War. This was our first visit to the museum and there are a number of displays of land, air and water vehicles to see.

The museum is opne on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5PM. Suggest calling for visiting. For more details, please visit their website: http://originalbunker.org/

There is a cockpit section from a C-7A Caribou, SN 61-02389. This aircraft is an actual Air America veteran, having flown in Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam in the 1960’s and 1970’s. It is officially documented at the very last Air America aircraft to leave Laos in 1974 according to online references.


There is a US Navy Beech T-34C Turbo Mentor, SN GL-179 on site.

The ever popular Bell UH-1 Iroquois helicopter.

There is a US Navy Douglas A-4B Skyhawk, BuNo 142741.
